Taking Overdrive Training on the Road
Sarah Loughrin and I have been visiting 4th and 5th grade classrooms throughout the district teaching students how to use Overdrive to download eBooks on the Chromebooks and their own devices.  It's been very successful!  Our weekend circulation has gone up 82% and our weekday circulation is up 93% from last year.

Overdrive isn't just for 4th and 5th grade students.  So if you would like us to visit your classroom, just let us know.   We are also willing to do workshops with parents.

Badgerlink's New and Improved Site

Badgerlink has recently gone under some major renovations, and it resulted in a much easier user experience with the site.  Watch the video above to see how easy it is for students and staff to navigate Badgerlink.  Why should you use Badgerlink?  There are lots of great free resources for students and staff, such as encyclopedias, Spanish language materials, automobile repair guides, genealogy, newspapers, professional journals, test practice (for Praxis, GED, Citizenship, SAT, ACT, and more), etc.  To access Badgerlink go to www.badgerlink.net

Common Core Corner: Informational Text Booklists from Teachingbooks.net

Provide students a balance of informational and literary texts by using quality, ready-made booklists for each grade level band.
To access these lists:
  1. Drop down “Popular” from the mango bar near the top of the TeachingBooks.net webpage, and select "Common Core Standards."

  2. Select a “Grade Level Band” on the left side of the screen, and then find booklists featuring exceptional, award-winning titles.
